What we’re looking at this week…

Are you familiar with the food pyramid? It’s a graphic that shows you how many servings of each food group our bodies need every day.

Lisa Tomlinson, FCIPD, has her own spin on it and shares the mood pyramid! The core idea is the same: this pyramid shows the us positive experiences we should aim to have each day to maintain and improve our mood.

Our eyes were particularly drawn to the top of the pyramid, reminding us that’s it’s important to have fun every day.

I Am Here prioritizes mental health and wellbeing, and this includes having fun!

What are we listening to this week?

Our body can tell us a lot about how we’re feeling. At I Am Here, we see our mental health and wellbeing as being supported by six pillars. One of these is our Physical Health.

In this podcast, Dr. Jeffrey Rutstein, PsyD, discusses how we can improve our mental health and wellbeing by regulating our nervous system. He suggests that tuning in to our bodies can be a great first step in discovering what’s going on with ourselves. Doing this can help us to proactively recognize and resolve any challenges we could face.

At I Am Here, we promote the message that it’s ok not to feel ok; and it’s absolutely ok to ask for help.

In this story, Sylvia Emokpae tells us about the moment she realized this for herself.  She explains how she discovered that she wanted more than a shoulder to cry on; she wanted to actually do something about her unhappiness. That moment of determination can be an important step on the road to better mental health and wellbeing.
