This week, we’re asking, “Am I getting it right?” This includes:
- How do we achieve balance?
- Do we listen to our instincts, our feelings, and our truths?
- Are we ready to become our best selves?
When we ask ourselves if we are “getting it right”, we also need to ask: “If I’m not “getting it right”, is that ok?” It is ok. The important thing to remember is that you are doing your best, that self-compassion is essential.
What are we watching this week?
This week, let’s turn our focus to a compelling video, shared by Simon Sinek. In the video, he shares a thought-provoking message about balance in our lives.
Often, we find ourselves striving to be perfect. Sinek reminds us that true balance isn’t about achieving a static state of “perfection,” which is actually not possible in any case. It is about rather embracing the journey itself. He emphasizes the importance of being present in and enjoying the moments of imbalance, and of sharing the journey.
As we reflect on this idea of balance, let’s consider how it applies to our own lives. How can we embrace the journey, acknowledging the moments of imbalance, and learn from them? And, just as importantly, who are the people who accompany us on this journey, with whom we share support and companionship along the way?

What are we listening to this week?
Why do we stay stuck? Why do we ignore the cues our bodies give us? Why do we people-please instead of listening to our real selves?
These are the questions with which we are challenged in this episode of the Pretty Intense Podcast. Mel Robbins gives her take on why we stay stuck in places where we are not happy.
She points to our hardwiring since childhood. As children, we can be encouraged to smother our instincts, our feelings, and our truths. As a result, we might stop listening to what is in our hearts and souls. We may find ourselves denying and concealing, and not listening to our instincts.
Mel reminds us, however, that the biggest gift of adulthood is the ability to have our own say. She reminds us that, as adults, we have the capacity to frame our own life changes, and we have the freedom to make them.
Are there any cues from yourself that you need to listen to? Are there any boundaries that you need to set, instead of enduring and tolerating? Feel free to share with us on our I Am Here‘s X page. As always, your reflections are welcome.
Who are we quoting this week?
“Man cannot remake himself without suffering, for he is both the marble and the sculptor.”
– Alexis Carrel
Do we believe we come ready-made? Do we want to be “one size fits all”? Or do we evolve, regress, progress, fail, get back up, and learn? Do we recognize that effort is required to change, to become the person we want to be?
