If you are participating in the Challenges for Orange October, it is your responsibility to ensure that:
  • There is sufficient space to perform the exercises safely and move freely without obstacles or obstructions, free from furniture, equipment and other hazards – a minimum of four square metres per person
  • Any equipment is safe and in a suitable condition for the activity being performed
  • The surrounding floor space is entirely clear to remove any hazards that may increase the risk of slips, trips or falls
  • There are no distractions throughout the duration of the session
  • There is sufficient heating, lighting, ventilation and hydration
  • They have contacted their GP or Health Professional prior to engaging with this programme to confirm it is safe for them to do so, especially if they have a pre diagnosed health condition

Introduction to Orange October’s Challenges

Life’s challenges, like life’s opportunities, don’t often show up as and when expected. Sometimes, we need to rely on our grit to overcome the obstacles. We also need to develop grit to reach our goals, whether big or small. That’s why we have designed these challenges for I Am Here’s Orange October to help you tap into your natural resilience in fun and effective ways.

Week 1 Challenge: Building Grit, One Breath at a Time!

Ready to kickstart your journey to building a grittier character? Over the next seven days, we’re challenging you to practice a breathwork technique of your choice twice over the week. Whether you are waking up, walking about, or winding down, this will help you reset, refocus, and build the mental self-discipline that underlines grit.

Some of you may find you practice your breathwork more often than twice – and that’s great too.

How to Participate:
  • Step 1: Select any breathwork technique of your choice.
  • Step 2: Practice it at least twice over the next seven days.
It’s that simple.

Why This Challenge?
Practising breathwork can help you regulate your emotions, increase your mental clarity, and face challenges with a clear and calm mindset. It’s accessible anywhere, anytime. You need to breathe anyway, so it can be an easy challenge to incorporate into your new grit building routine.
