His work in this space emphasises the importance of mental and physical well-being, of promoting meaningful connections and of bringing back mateship.

Barry is recognised as an international leader in postvention services and has received several national and international awards. Barry is currently a Director of the National Suicide Research Foundation Ireland; Patron and Consultant with Suicide Bereavement UK; and Patron of the Support After Suicide Partnership.
