Can I do this?

This week, we’re asking, “Can I do this?”

  • Do I know how to be positive about challenges?
  • Am I prepared to do what it takes to reach a goal?
  • Can I overcome indecision?

Each of this week’s reflections come back to these key questions.

What are we thinking about this week?

The following image is from a LinkedIn post by Liz Fosslien, Work-focused storyteller, author, and keynote speaker. She speaks of her anxiety and homesickness after a move she made to take up a new job, and a helpful solution.

Do thoughts like “I can’t do this,” “I’m not ready,” “I made a bad decision” affect our mental health and wellbeing? How often do we say this to ourselves? Are we able to step back and look at the bigger picture? Are we able to see that, in fact, we are already doing this?

At I Am Here, we invite you to share any experiences of challenging decisions you took, where you stepped out of your comfort zone. How did it work out for you?

What are we reading this week?

“If you fail to plan, then you are planning to fail.” Benjamin Franklin

The following Blog post by Christian Baker, internationally qualified Hypnotherapist, poses us a question. If there is something that we want to change, improve, or achieve in our life, what preparation are we making towards making that happen? He advises us to reflect on this, look at any changes that we want to make in our life, have an honest conversation’ with ourselves, and ask, ‘Am I prepared to make it happen?

“Remember, what your mind believes you will achieve, so think differently, believe in yourself, take action and you can achieve the life that you want.”

Visit the I Am Here Arena for great tips, help and support towards achieving the lives we want.

Remember, I Am Here directs us to help and support we need to practice self-compassion.
