We all belong.
Many of us have felt pressure to fit in. We might change our appearance and behavior to match those around us, even when it doesn’t align with our own beliefs.
Men are often raised to fit a very specific and traditional role; one that doesn’t suit all of us. When we don’t live our true selves, our value systems, or our beliefs, it will impact our mental health and wellbeing in the long term.
Edgar Allan Poe wrote about feeling like an outcast and a misfit in his poem, ‘Alone’. He knew what it was like to be misunderstood and lonely; how it felt to have to put on a mask; and how it felt to pretend to be someone else.
I Am Here encourages you to discover and live as your Real Self. Your Real Self can be described as how you behave when you believe no one’s looking. You can learn more about Real, one of five CLEAR skills, in the I Am Here: Tribe Members, I Am Here: Ambassadors, and I Am Here for Me: Real eLearning.
