What is I Am Here: Psychological First Aid (PFA)?
I Am Here: Psychological First Aid (PFA) is a practical, evidence-informed approach to supporting people in moments of distress. It helps individuals respond with calmness, care, and connection, especially during crises or times of change. PFA is not counselling, it’s about being there when someone needs support most.
This training is ideal for anyone in the workplace, including leaders, team members, and peer supporters, who want to build confidence in supporting others through challenging situations. It aligns with the 2025–29 NSW Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy for First Responders.
No prior experience is needed. The training is designed for anyone, whether you’re new to mental health conversations or already in a support role. It’s grounded in peer support, not clinical expertise.
You’ll learn how to:
  • Recognise when someone may not be feeling ok
  • Understand common trauma responses
  • Offer Psychological First Aid safely and efficiently
  • Use CLEAR skills (Compassion, Listening, Empathy, Acceptance, being Real)
  • Stay calm and build trust in moments of distress
  • Refer others to appropriate hell- confidently and clearly.
  • Protect your own wellbeing with self-checks and healthy boundaries
While both provide early support, I Am Here PFA is trauma-informed, peer led and designed for in the moment care- not diagnoses. It’s simple, human and scalable.
Yes. Participants become I Am Here Certified, demonstrating competency in delivering Psychological First Aid using our CLEAR skillset and referral pathway.

Yes. This training meets PFA requirements under the 2025–29 NSW Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy for First Responders. It also aligns with psychosocial risk mitigation, leadership development, and workplace mental health frameworks.

I Am Here PFA Training is available to you in several formats. Delivered via live virtual webinars and onsite if location permits. In the coming months self-paced online module will also be available.

Live Virtual Webinars

I Am Here: PFA Training is currently delivered over 2x 60min virtual webinars that occur on the first and 2nd Tuesday of every month.  These are public classes open to participants across organisations.  Private sessions are also available on request.  Contact I Am Here at hello@iamheretribe.com for more details.
Self Paced Online Learning

The I Am Here: PFA Training will be available as a self-paced online module, that may be completed at any time. The eLearning module is interactive with real world scenarios and reinforcement activities.
