At I Am Here, we believe our mental health and wellbeing is supported by six pillars. These pillars are Emotional Wellbeing, Physical Wellbeing, Spiritual Wellbeing, Social Wellbeing, Financial Wellbeing, and Work and Career. If any of these pillars become strained, a person could face a mental health and wellbeing challenge.

Carole Ann Clarke from I Am Here will talk with Mark Corkery, a Certified Financial Planner and Financial Planning Director with Premier Life. She will also be joined by Eoin O’Connor QFA, a Mortgage Consultant with Finance Solutions.

At the beginning of 2022 we want to talk about our Financial Wellbeing pillar and offer some useful tools so that you can take your first steps towards financial wellness. We will discuss how Finance can have a huge impact on your other wellbeing pillars. On the flip side we will emphasise that money shouldn’t create barriers to fulfilment or setting goals. Some topics that we will cover are; Knowing your Money, Protecting your Money, Growing your Money, Getting mortgage ready, Planning your Taxes, Planning your Retirement and how to create a Financial Plan.

Collectively, we want to reduce the number of suicides in society. Understanding the mindset of those who are at risk of suicide, how to intervene to provide a safety net and how to signpost help and support are vital steps to making this a reality. Equally, understanding how to deal with the impact of a suicide in order to support family, friends and community, is prevention for the next generation.

He is also a Director of The National Suicide Research Foundation (Ireland).
Carole Ann will also be joined by Dr. Rory O’Connor, President of the International Association for Suicide Prevention and Director of the Suicidal Behaviour Research Laboratory, Glasgow University. Rory has just published a book called “When It Is Darkest: Why People Die by Suicide and What We Can Do to Prevent It”.
Each suicide directly impacts 135 people across the workplace, family, friend circles and communities. The conversation that needs to be had includes us all.
